In June I will be walking 60km across the South Downs and cycling 60 miles from Cambridge University to University College London (UCL), to raise funds and awareness in support of persecuted academics.

About CARA

Throughout the twentieth century, conflicts, civil wars, repressive regimes and rogue factions have led fleeing academics in search of refuge, and to CARA in search of solidarity and practical support. Many of those that CARA helps have suffered torture, imprisonment and campaigns of intimidation. They flee in genuine fear for their lives.

CARA's work helps them to re establish their lives and careers so that their specialist knowledge and abilities may continue to benefit the country they flee to and, if/when it is safe for them to return, their home country.
