With all the trials and tribulations facing us at the moment, it's too easy to forget that many people are living in an environment that is way more difficult: one in which their basic human rights are denied to them, one in which people's right to freedom of expression is met by intimidation, harrassment and ill-treatment.

That's why I'm running this year's London Marathon to raise money to support the work that Amnesty International are doing, work that helps make the world a better place for other people less fortunate than you and I simply because of the country and environment that they happen to live in.

Last time I ran for Amnesty International I raised just over £2,000 - this time I want to go one step further and raise at least £2,500. Your support will help me reach this target.
