We provide emotional and practical support to families with a seriously ill child.

Story

The inaugural Law Rocks event will be at the legendary 100 Club on 18th June 2009. We hope to raise several thousand of pounds for charity, and plan to take the event from strength to strength in years to come, so your support is needed! Six bands from five different global law firms and a leading barristers chambers will battle it out before a panel of the most esteemed judges for the right to donate the prize money to their charity of choice.

The Stragglers (CMS Cameron McKenna)

Paul Smith
Paul honed his vocal skills shouting at the kids. He started out on keys but moved to guitar when he realised that sitting at the piano stool prevented him from dancing like a pig farmer. The set list has improved since he was stopped from choosing songs. Paul proves two immutable truths: coming from Liverpool does not make you a Beatle. But it does make you think you're one.

Louise Santos
Louise started in the band as chief roadie, but quickly proved unsuited to the job, so switched to vocals. Found mostly sitting. And resting. And applying make-up. Looks better in a frock than any of the other members of the band, although Clive runs her a pretty close second. Stands at the front of the stage to shelter the audience from Jon.

Jonathan Dames
Jon grew up on the mean streets of Nottingham dodging small arms fire. Learnt to "play" guitar by twanging on a solitary line of barbed wire running along the wall at the back of his parents' council house. Usually sounds like he's still doing just that. He has a face for radio, which is a shame because it's extremely unlikely any station would want to spin any record he played on.

James Thomas
Wales has produced many fine singers. James isn't one of them. People get excited when he plays the keyboard, but only because he does it so seldom. Spends most of any performance listening to his iPod working out what he should have played on the last song, while not playing the next one. Hired solely as eye candy, but has done little to improve the overall appearance of the band.

Russ Bingham
Russ invented the stereotype about drummers being people who hang around with musicians. Despite only having to remember to bring himself and his sticks, usually turns up at band practices and asks if anyone has sticks he can borrow. And whether anyone's seen the drummer. One of two professional "dour Yorkshire men" in the band. Not quick to the bar.

Clive Wells
Clive "completes" the band, but not in the Jerry Maguire sense. The only ringer, acquired from the local hospital, he spends his days cutting up bits of humans and it has had a predictable toll on his sense of humour, already dampened by an early life in Yorkshire. Spends a lot of time talking about what he played and how he played it. When others are quizzed on the point they almost invariably say: "there's a bass player in the band?"

It shouldn't work ... and most of the time it doesn't. They are "The Stragglers".
