6th London Legal sponsored walk · 17 May 2010 ·

The London Legal Support Trust supports the work of social welfare legal centres in London and the Home Counties. Funds raised are targeted to assist requests for help from the centres. This financial aid helps the legal centres overcome funding crises, develop new services, support appeals and improve their premises.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

The LawWorks team will once again be walking 10K around the legal landmarks in London starting at the Royal Courts of Justice. It will be the 6th Legal Walk to be held. Last year there were 4,000 walkers (and runners!) across the many participating Walk Teams who collectively raised £390,000. More information about the London Legal Walk 2010 can be found at: http://londonlegalsupporttrust.org.uk.

All funds received by the Trust through this page will be donated without deduction to LawWorks.

We are also being joined by some committed volunteers!  Sam Kessler, Beth Nguyen, Keerat Khalsa, Caroline Rayner, Ausilia Matraxia, Sarah Secker, Sharon Nayyar, Bob Grindrod, Ellison Hacker, Stefan Hacker, Calyn D'Alton, Amanda Bridgeman, Alison Riches, Praveen Pandey, Robert Gill and Amanda Finlay!

LawWorks

Thousands of people in need receive pro bono help each year through LawWorks Clinics, free mediations and Individuals case work.  Hundreds of community groups have also received free legal help through the LawWorks for Community Groups programme.  LawWorks also encourages and supports pro bono activity at universities and law schools across the country.

With your help we aim to maintain these services and expand to areas not yet served by organised pro bono schemes. (www.lawworks.org.uk)

And here's the best bit... the Ministry of Justice have offered LawWorks up to £50,000 in matched funding.  This means that MOJ will provide LawWorks with £1 for every £1 received from other donors.  Your contributions will help us reach that magic number and get the most out of this funding.  Take a look and see how we're getting on: http://www.lawworks.org.uk/?id=matched-funding

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Many thanks for your support,
