Story

EVENT POSTPONED! NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.

Quiz Night,

Braniacs, boffins and know-it-alls, your marathon running fundraisers need you. Join us for a night of questions and cerebral challenges, encompassing a plethora of subjects, ranging from the arts to audio clips, testing your intelligence quotient.

For the not so intellectually gifted, come to a pub, where some guy off Heart FM will be reading out questions. Don't worry about whether you get them right, the bar will be open and they serve food as well. Happy days.

Champers and Nandos for the winners. A wooden spoon for the losers. Simples.

Donate £15 to enter. Team size from 2 min to 6 max. Email dasmyth@hotmail.co.uk with your team name and team captains info.

5-a-side Football Tournament 15th March

For the 2nd year running the sun was shining brightly on tournament day. And for the 2nd year running a team featuring David Smyth won. Fix you say? Definitely not. Although we did have a ref who stormed off mid-way through the semi-finals! Thanks to all who played and helped us raise more money for our growing fundraising pot!

Ignore the time in the picture.

We are realisitc. It's not going to happen. Three amateurs running a marathon in 3:36? No chance. The stretcher and assisted exit, well that's a possibility...

Ok, so we got excited. We ran a marathon in New York, survived it and thought we could do it again. In fact we got so excited we managed to convince someone else to run the London marathon with us well. Still not sure how we managed that.

That person is Nisshan Bhadressa. Athletic pedigree? Well, apparently he walked for a couple of hours once in Scotland. Kudos.

So, in April we are running the London marathon and we need you. We need your support. We need you at our events. We need you donating. However, your stories about Great Uncle Alf running it in 1932, in nothing but his bare feet, are strictly optional.

Now, I expect you may know a few people already running the marathon. I bet they have already asked you for money. Cheeky rascals. Haven't they heard about this ol' credit crunch malarky. And here we are, hat in hand, asking you to donate. What could possibly be unique about us? And who the devil are Chickenshed? Why should you pay money to foster free range chickens in a wooden, purpose built structure?

Well, let me tell you about Chickenshed. They do great work. They keep kids off the street. They work closely with your local community. And everyone likes keeping kids off the street and helping their community.

As for our uniqueness, well, we prefer to let our events do the talking. So whether it be a football tournament or an exciting auction, we want you involved and to join us in using this fundraising as a great excuse to have fun.

Sponsor us today. Help your community. Keep kids off the street. Have fun. Because, without you and your support, we are simply three muppets running around London. And no one likes a muppet.

And this is why Justgiving is the best way to do it!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Chickenshed gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

** For those concerned, the stretchered individual in the picture made a full recovery.
