Hi all
TEAM FRANK LLOYD BIKE
Thanks for coming to team FRANK LLOYD-BIKE's fundraising page for Architecture Sans Frontieres [ASF].
Myself and a few friends at Sheffield University thought it would be a good idea to 'celebrate' finishing 6 years of Architecture with a bit more hard work - doing the 1000 mile Lands End to John O' Groats bike ride at the start of July this year - hoping to raise some money for good causes.
The five of us amateur "soon to be pretty good" cyclists are;
Stefan, Luke, Danny, Ronan and Sam
ARCHITECTURE SANS FRONTIERES
One of the organisations we are supporting is Architecture Sans Frontieres [ASF] - a very worthwhile charity whose work is all the more pertinent given the recent disasters in Japan and NZ and closer to us as one of our colleagues fronts the organisation's communication[s]. Their website is linked on this page but in short;
ASF strives to make architecture relevant to the world’s majority - people who are marginalised or living in poverty. ASF-UK hopes to improve living conditions for vulnerable groups and disadvantaged communities. They also seeks to influence the aid and humanitarian sector by highlighting the importance of using appropriately trained international and local practitioners in order to enhance agencies’ capacity to deliver relevant shelter solutions.
The charity has a number of workshops planned for this year including the upgrading of slums in Nairobi and re-building after flash flood disasters in Ladakh [Indian Himalayas] - to which your donations will go.
OTHER CHARITIES
Alongside ASF, we are also supporting the Fountain of Hope Project in Zambia who provide a safe place for the street kids of Lusaka - providing food, water and a bed to sleep on then please visit;

We hope to raise a total of £2000 between us.....
Cheers!
