Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

In August last year (2009) I received call that would make any parents blood turn to ice. Our eldest son Chris was hiking in Snowdonia and had taken a harder route than intended. The weather had closed in and he and his friend were stuck on a ridge unable to go up or down safely. After checking their location, phone battery condition and reassuring them, we made a phone call to the local police. This set in motion their rescue which involved scambling the helicopter. Within an hour of Chris' call to us he was safely back down the mountain. Humbled and not a little embarrassed but safe.

This year I turn 50 years old. I decided to mark the event by cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats in September. You can read all about my plans and training at  www.le-jog-blog-blogspot.com  I intend to try and raise money to donate to the mountain rescue team in Snowdonia who do such a great job in all weathers without pay.

Please donate what you can and remember those selfless men and women who volunteer in Snowdonia national park

Thank you very much
