We Made It!
Well we managed it! Lands End to John O'Groats in 15 hours 55 minutes (You can take another two hours off that if you take out the hanging around at fuel stops). Aidan still can't sit down properly, but the good news is that we should hit our target of £500 for St Leonards Hospice.
For those of you who are keeen on seeing us suffer (probably all of you!) it pi**ed it down from Lands End to Carlisle and on the way back from John O'Groats to Perth. The 'good' thing about it raining at the start of a journey is that you never really dry out!!
Thanks again for your support - and there's still time to give if you wish
Land's End to John O'Groats 21st June 2008
Last year we did York to John O'Groats & it took us 12 hours on 'A' roads with a bit of bad luck thrown in - an electrical breakdown near Darlington. (One of us got stuck in a Peat bog too, but that was once we were already there...)
This time, were going all the way! LE to J O'G in a day - that's 874 miles (plus the same again to get to the start/home, although on seperate days.)
We've been offered some sponsorship already, so we thought setting up this page would allow the widest possible audience to contribute to St. Leonard's Hospice.
So if you appreciate just how far that is in the saddle ('Anusol' at the ready!
), or even if you don't , and want to sponsor us - you know what to do.
Thanks very much on behalf of St. Leonard's, Aidan & Ian.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Leonard's Hospice, York gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
