INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL RESCUE have been working in Goa for just over 10 years and treated over 100,000 animals there in that time.
It started as a dog neutering and rabies vaccination programme to reduce the spread of rabies and control the numbers of strays. Up to 30,000 people a year die of rabies in India and its mainly transmitted by dogs.
This is why the Indian Government introduced the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme. We receive a small sum per sterilisation or neutering we carry out.
We employ all local people at the veterinary clinice and rescue centre located near vagator beach at Assagao, north Goa. Maneka Gandhi is a patron of IAR and as an MP has done a lot to introduce animal welfare laws in India.

Your donation may help to save a young child from contracting rabies this year and enable male or female stray dogs to be castrated or spayed and receive the food and after care they need following their operations.
OR perhaps it will treat a rescued dancing bear and his friends to several weeks supply of oats, fruit and honey in their lovely retreat, where they'll live out the rest of their days free from the torture they have been through!!!
