Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

14th July 2013

Well we made it! No longer does Leatherbarrows need to advertise for a new Commercial Manager, Financial Controller or Sales Executive.  David came home in 45 mins, Lewis in a respectable 50 mins and Andy in a not-to-be-sniffed-at 55 mins. An essential part of the team were Rob Dance who took charge of the van and Pete who gave up his Sunday to help load all the swimmers' kit. (and there was lots of it!) Big thanks to both and really big thanks to all who donated. (For those who still wish to donate, this page stays "live" for some time yet).

Let's do it again next year eh!

After undergoing a triple heart bypass some 10 years ago I know only too well about the importance of raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Before my op I couldn't have walked 1.4 miles let alone swam it so without their hard work and dedication I and many others may not be leading the lives that we do now.

This will be my third consecutive Pier-to-Pier swim and I have even pursuaded colleagues from work to join me!  Here's hoping for a bumper turnout in July and a record breaking amount raised for this great organisation.
