I also want to take this opportunity to apologise if that plea was nearer to harassment than it should be! I do like to get my teeth into these things :-)
For those of you who know me (Lee), you will know that last year 2008 was a personal health disaster. Two major operations (One life-threatening, to labour a point !) and over 6 months of recovery. Well times change, my health is back nearer to where it should be, and I am cycling and generally moving more than I have in the past. I am 100% focused on not seeing the inside of a hospital for some time to come, so I thought, why not help do some more good in the process?
With that, both my brother (Craig) and I will be taking up the Great North Bike Ride challenge on 30th August 2009, a 54 mile trek between North Northumberland and Tynemouth. It will hurt, and believe me this is a long way for the both of us ! Despite popular belief, neither of us are at olympic level in any form of sport :-)
The Great North Bike Ride supports the Chris Lucas Trust, a charity that directly helps children and young adults suffering from cancer. A noble cause, and the more you support this, the less Craig & I can get out of it.
We know you get a lot of charity requests, and as such, we kindly request your support at any level. It all makes a difference.
