My story
This coming weekend I will be taking upon the challenge of kayaking the Leeds Liverpool canal in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice. One of three trans-Pennine waterways, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal is the longest canal in Britain at 127 miles long, passing through 91 locks with a summit level of 487 feet, offering a unique coast-to-coast route across Northern Britain.
Not only am I hoping to unlock a true sense of accomplishment, experience the support & camaraderie along the way but I also hope to raise funds for the wonderful charity that is Claire House.
Claire House is a children’s hospice located on the Wirral, and laughter, positivity and care is what they are all about. The ten-bedded hospice provides respite, as well as end-of-life and bereavement care for children and young adults with complex medical needs, up to the age of 23. They support the whole family, providing care and counselling for as long as is needed.
It’s just me, my kayak and I, so on that note, please dig deep! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, so it’s the most efficient way to donate
