Story
Hi all. Leeds Met Badminton team are coming together to do
something special for a very special charity that has recently come
close to all of our hearts!!!
Alex Marritt, an asset to our
team and a good friend to all who know him, was recently diagnosed with
testicular cancer resulting in the team wanting to show their support
for Alex and the charity, through this bike ride. The news has rocked
the entire team and on behalf of everybody, we offer him all the
support he needs to win his fight and have a speedy recovery!
Also,
recently the story of Ian and Andy Woolways mum, Sue, recently beating
breast cancer for the second time, later to develop skin cancer and
also come through that. The support has been tremendous throughout and
once again, to show our support for this heartfelt cause, this
challenge is being accepted by all!
The plan is to cycle the Leeds - Liverpool canal route which is 127.4 miles long. With the total journey being 254.8 miles. Our mission is to complete this journey in just 2 days, with a night of rest in a warm hotel in Liverpool.
