Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This event means a lot to me in so many ways, Rugby League has given me so much since I started watching as a 9 Year old boy, friends, great moments and something to be proud to be associated with.

The following is from our Facebook page

"Several Rugby League fans are set to embark on a 15 mile charity walk in aid of the RFL Benevolent fund.

Fans from every Engage Super League Club are expected to take part in the event, which will take place on Friday 10th July. The brave participants are set to walk from Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds to Belle Vue in Wakefield, on the day of the Engage Super League Clash between Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Leeds Rhinos.

This event is set to be more poignant after the passing of Wakefield players Adam Watene and Leon Walker in the past year, and both clubs are urging their fans to take part to raise money for the worthwhile cause, which provides players injured whilst playing Rugby League, and their families with support.

Danny Frank, a Leeds fan and one of the event organisers said; “ The passing of Leon Walker recently, made me and a few fellow Leeds Fans realise what good work the RFL Benevolent Fund really does, and as we were likely to be going to the game anyway, we decided to do our bit for what is a great cause and a great help to the Rugby League community.”

The walk is set to leave from the South Stand Car Park at Headingley Carnegie Stadium at 12.45pm on the day of the match, and all fans are welcome to attend, either to do the walk, or help out, the organisers want to see as many replica shirts as possible helping out with the event.
