Hello!
Firstly I'd like to say thank you for being so generous and donating to our charities. It really does mean a lot to us.
I chose Cats Protection because I used to do volunteer work for my local Greenwich branch and I know how much effort and hard work is put in to keep them going. I originally got involved with CP because Gavin and I rescued four cats from the land behind our house. We have no idea how they got there but they were all successfully re-homed.
It’s also in memory of my Uncle Michael who died last year. He loved cats and we now have his elderly moggie Gizzie living with us.
Cats come to CP by all manner of ways. Some are just dumped by their owners because they are no longer wanted, others are strays born to feral mothers or they become strays after being left to fend for themselves, and a lot of them are victims of abuse.
Cats Protection has seen all the usual ways of tormenting cats: kicking, punching, burning, stabbing, poking eyes out etc… but far worse happens, believe me.
The local branches around the country are cash poor - that's why you see so many jumble sales! They desperately need money to stay open and help cats.
The money you donate will be used to pay vets bills, buy food, and also be used to help build more ‘Cat Cabins’ which are put in volunteer’s gardens. The cats that are rescued are placed there until they can be rehomed. If you would like to know more about the work of Cats Protection then please go to: www.cats.org.uk
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Cats Protection will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you!
