Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are raising funds in memory of Lee Howell who unfortunately lost his very brave battle against brain cancer in November of last year. Lee was a healthy 47 year old when he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme IV. He didn't drink or smoke & lead a healthy, active life.

Lee endured 3 invasive debulking surgeries, countless rounds of chemotherapy & radiotherapy. He also had 4 surgeries to repair the wound which had broken down & eventually had to have a piece of skull removed. Throughout all of this, Lee did not complain or feel sorry for himself. He fought the illness with strength, determination, humility & a large dose of humour. His amazing spirit endeared him to all the amazing medical staff who cared for him & he became an inspiration to all who knew him.

Lee passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife Claire by his side in November 2014. He was just 48.

Lee has inspired us to raise funds/awareness & the profile of Brain Tumours. They are the biggest killers of the under 40 in this country & yet receive less than 2% of the national spend on cancer research.

So please dig deep & help us to make a difference in honour of a truly amazing man who was taken from us far too soon.
