Story

Hi folks,

For those of you that know me, you'll know I work for the fantastic local Hospice known as St. Oswalds, in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, and since joining the team here I have completed a number of sporting challenges in order to raise funds and awareness for the vital work they do each and every day, and I have no plans on stopping yet.

Since 2007 I have completed The Bupa Great North Run 10 times, the "St.Oswalds Way Walk" (a 97 mile hike throughout Northumberland), the Loch Ness Marathon, the Allendale Challenge (x2), the 'Cap-To-Cap' cycle challenge (each Capital City of the UK & Ire. x2), the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run, the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon, the 'Northumberland Coastal Path Challenge (64miles over 2day's), the Bupa Great Winter Run (x7) and the world famous 'Tough Guy' event.

Along with the 2014 Icelandic Trek, where I climbed the infamous 'Eyjaffjallajokull' mountain, a stratovolcano, standing at 5,417 ft at its highest point, and has a crater 3–4 kilometres (1.9–2.5 mi) in diameter. This was an amazing challenge and pushed the entire group to their limits.

I have been lucky enough to have been sponsored for these events in the past, with friends and family helping me hit my target each time and I hope to continue to raise money by completing more challenges in the future!

From my previous events I have managed to make a good start towards my £50,000 target, and I hope to complete my aim before my 50th Birthday. I will continue to update this page with event news and photo's, so please do keep checking this page, sponsoring me when you can and keep telling as many of your friends and family about the amazing work done here at St. Oswald's Hospice.

Thank you

Lee
