The Charity...

I am going to 'run' the London Marathon on April 22nd this year (the girlfriend's birthday ) for The Zurich Community Trust.  Each year they give more than £500,000 to over 600 charities, making a huge difference to the local, national and even international community.  I am sure that my target sum of £1000 will be used to help those who need it the most. 

The Story...

I put my name down out of principle, If I have the chance to run the marathon and raise money for a good cause then I should say yes straight away!  I've recently done some research, however, and the reality of running a distance that nearly gets me from here (Swindon) to Cheltenham is sinking in!  Apparently I can expect to temporarily lose 2 inches in height (something I can't afford to do), 1/2 a stone in weight (something I can afford to do) and my dignity as I crawl across the line (or am I being presumptuous?  ).   On top of that, I'm becoming increasingly familiar with terms such as 'hitting the wall'.  Nothing like a good challenge!

What is more, If I hit my target of £750, I will run as SCOOBY DOO
