I'm doing the Great North Run this Sunday. Hopefully a 13 miles sprint with a bunch of Geordies. Not sure about a target time but 1 hour 30 mins would be nice....as long as the back holds out and the stitches don't rip. Its been just over 6 weeks since i had a double hernia op, which has hindered my training for this event. But where there's a will there's a way....and there will be runners dressed as chickens, bears and other mascot types AND people recovering from far worse things who will smash 1.30.

Please dig deep, a few pounds from each of you would spur me on.....if a pint is £2.50 then give up a pint for me and this charity this week! I'm running for 'Cash for Kids', set up by the lovely Katy at TFM.

Heres a brief description of what they do -

Cash for Kids is the official charity of TFM Radio & Magic 1170 supporting local children of Tees Valley, North Yorkshire & County Durham who are either sick or under-privileged. The charity is now in its 13th year with the most successful campaign being the annual toy appeal 'Cash For Kids this Christmas' and the most recent 'Build a Dream'. Last year we raised around £380,000 for local children. This year (2008/ 09) we are aiming for £470,000.
