Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Grace Leigh Vincent was born on 3 April 2009. She contracted Group B Streptococcal Meningitis at 5 weeks old, sustained substantial brain damage and was on a life support machine as she could not breath unaided. She was not expected to survive and her life support was turned off on 20 May 2009. Against all expectations, and after having said goodbye to her, the family watched her breathe for herself, and continue to thrive. She remains in hospital, but with the expectation that she will return home very soon. Grace is likely to have many problems in the future but her family are delighted to have her back and will provide all the love and support she will ever need, no matter what the future holds. The Meningitis UK Trust offers information and support and raises funds to help those affected by this vicious disease and in order that, one day, no more families will have to endure the trauma of watching their loved ones suffer as Grace did, it is important that research is possible to obtain a vaccine against it.
