Gareth Hill & Richard Jackson - LEJOG May 2011

For those unfamiliar with the acronym LEJOG (and why would you be?) it stands for Lands End to John O’Groats. These two villages, sitting at either end of our island are separated by over 1000 miles of open country, mountains, lakes, lochs and busy A and B roads.
It is along these roads that, in May this year, Gareth and Richard will attempt to traverse this distance on our bikes… it really is a long way, just look at the map! We will be required to cycle 100 miles a day for 10 days and can expect any or all of the following to slow us down along the way… crazy drivers, saddle sores, Scottish weather and generally cycling in the wrong direction.
20 years ago Gareth's Mam Christine went from being a full-time working mother who was healthy and active to not having the energy to complete basic daily tasks. Christine was eventually diagnosed with M.E. and has suffered from the fatigue it causes ever since. There is currently no cure for M.E. however the ME Association are a charity supporting research into the causes and providing information and support, education and training.
Please donate generously to this cause which Gareth and Richard will be suffering in aid of. How about sponsoring 1p per mile?
