Story
On October 6th I completed my sponsored cycle ride from Lands End to John O' Groats. The total distance covered in the end was 949 miles (about 7 miles further than originally planned - well, I had a few "diversions"!). If you want to read about my day by day account over the 12 days, please visit my blog site at www.lejogcampbell.bravehost.com
Many thanks to all the people who generously donated to the cause, both on line and off line. In particular many thanks to my company, Hedra, who gave £1 for every £1 donated by Hedra employees. If you still wish to donate, this site will be left open for a few weeks.
I set myself what I thought was an ambitious target of £5000. Thanks to the generosity of so many people, this has been smashed. I have been overwhelmed by the response to my request for donations. I know that my charity, Queenscourt Hospice, are delighted with the money and will ensure that it goes to good use.
The ride was in memory of my father - Ken - who died last year. Ken spent some of his last weeks in Queenscourt where he passed away, cared for with dignity and respect. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Queenscourt Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support. Mark Campbell
