Though my name is given as Leonard Watson you probablyknow me better as David Watson.

I have been accepted as a member of the Christian Aid Team to take part in the Flora London Marathon 2008.  As a race walker I shall not be running, but instead will be racewalking.  To achieve my goal of finishing within 5 hours, I shall need to walk the 26.2 mile race at an average of 5 1/4 mph, still quite a tall order.  As I turned 70 last July, to achieve this goal would be to gain acceptance within the London Marathon 'Good for Age' category.

In aiming to raise £2500 for Christian Aid I shall be dependent on members of the last four parishes in which I served before retirement in 2002, and members of the Northanger Benefice of eight parishes where we now live and share in ministry, together with and family and friends
