About our charity : Highland Hospice Highland Hospice
Highland Hospice is the only Hospice serving adults with incurable life-limiting disease in the Highlands of Scotland and is acknowledged as the centre of specialist palliative care expertise in the region. The Hospice currently provides a 10 bed In-Patient Unit in Inverness and a Day Hospice on the same site. Other onsite healthcare and related services for patients include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, emotional and psycho-spiritual therapies and complementary therapies. Medical staff also provide a service within Raigmore Hospital and community hospitals as well as visiting patients at home. While the majority of the referred patients have cancer, the Hospice is increasingly called upon to care for people with other incurable life-limiting disease including lung, kidney or heart disease and neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease.

On 22 June 2008, we will be setting off from Land's End to cycle the 1000 odd miles to John O'Groats, arriving on 29 June 2008.  Over the 8 days we will all be cycling the distance, averaging around 125 miles per day (well what's the odd mile here and there!) 

The picture shows us receiving a cheque for £3000 from Michael Jack of John Jack Contracts, Balmakeith, Nairn whose generousity has made this possible!  A special thanks from the team to you Mike.

We have also received assistance from MacRae and Dick, Inverness who have donated a vehicle, fuel and insurance.  Thanks go to Ian, Joshua's dad for arranging this and to MacRae and Dick.  We've also heard that we have now got a driver, sandwich maker and general dogs body!  Thanks Alan White from Forres Cycling Club
