A big thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have signed up to do the China Hiking Challenge 2010 to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The 10 day hike takes place in April next year and will take me along ancient and remote sections of The Great Wall. It will be physically challenging especially when I encounter the 300 steps of 'Heaven's Ladder' and mentally challenging as I will have to rough it most of the way.
I have chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as my Charity as I will be helping to provide support to people and families living with cancer. As a family living with cancer we recognise the work that charities like Macmillan do and know they need as much support as they can get.
I have started my training and walked the West Highland Way in May. I walked over varying terrain and only came home with one wee blister so I'm hoping I'm well underway for completing this challenge.
I have used JustGiving before and know that donating this way is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I have held various fundraising events over the last year which have been very successful and lots of fun. My next event is a quiz night and I'm hoping this will raise the rest of the funds I have pledged to Macmillan.
