Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Well the news you've all been waiting for....yes, I did it!! After a 4am start we made our way via taxi, ferry, bus, to the collection areas at the start on Staten Island. We all looked like refugees with our extra layers of old clothes and bin liners to keep warm for the hours before the race. But despite the cold wind the sun shone and the New York crowds were fantastic cheering us on. It was tough with long climbs over the bridges and many hills but as 'Paula' said, 'Victory in New York is not about time but crossing the finish line'. Although we didn't achieve our sub-4 hour marathon, my friends and I managed to cross the line in just over 4 hours so we were very pleased with our efforts.

Many, many  thanks to all of you who have donated to the Breast Cancer Care charity and to those who I anticipate will very soon, it means so much to those who receive the care the charity offers. Thanks for supporting the charity and helping many of those we know who have had to endure this terrible illness.
