Story
A big thank you to all of you who contributed to my effort to raise my target of £1000 for Saint Michael's Hospice - funds are still coming in so i'm getting there!
The walk was completed in 2 hours 15 mins in very muggy, drizzly weather in the early hours of Sunday 6 July. I'm sure my mum and Helen were with me every step of the way and your kind generosity kept me going...

At the stroke of midnight on Saturday 5 July, over 1500 people from the Harrogate area will begin a journey with one goal - to improve the end of life care in the Harrogate and District area. I will be one of those people!
Recently I lost my closest friend Helen to cancer. I am going to join others in the Midnight Walk (6.5 miles – a quarter of a marathon!) in her memory and for that of my mother Irene who also passed away at St Michael’s. Both Helen & Irene were able to leave this life with dignity due to the compassionate care of the selfless people who work for St Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate. Without fundraising activities such as this, my friend and mum and all those who were close to them would not have been able to endure such tragic circumstances.
Saint Michael’s exists to ensure that local people get the end of life care they want, need and deserve. St Michael’s makes no charge for their services. They are delivered by a team of staff and volunteers who place great emphasis on choice, dignity, respect, compassion and empowerment.
It’s for these reasons that I am asking you to support me in my efforts to reach a target of £1000 to donate to this amazing charitable institution
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Saint Michael's Hospice will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please help me to raise my target to help others.
Many thanks for your support.
