We are the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK

Story

Hello,

We're a band of 6 merry cyclists who'll be hot footing it, well hot-pedalling it from Blackpool to Paris in August (I know it says Sep 3rd, but believe me we start on August 28th!) Now that might sound like a crazy thing to do, but knowing that we're raising money for two great charities will ensure that those pedals keep-a-turnin'!

We're all confident that we'll complete the almost 600 mile trip in 6 days. Of course, this being a UK summer, we'll likely get wet and we have to cross the Pennines, so there'll be some lumpy terrain to battle as we wend our way southwards.

It all just adds to the challenge. Keep up to date with our efforts at the LeTower2Tower blog.

We'll also have some guests riding with us on some of the legs - Phil Jones and Louise Ayling to name but two.

We're raising money for the NSPCC Child's Voice Appeal and Fanconi Hope. Here's a little about each charity:

The Child's Voice Appeal is an NSPCC appeal which launched in 2008 to raise £50 million to sustain and grow our helplines services, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline. Locally, to our riders, the Child’s Voice Appeal aims to raise £2.7m in Greater Manchester over a three year period. More information about the appeal is here - http://www.nspcc.org.uk/what-we-do/childs-voice-appeal/in-your-area/north_west_cva_main_cva73573.html

Fanconi Anaemia is a genetic disorder affecting children that causes bone marrow failure and predisposes to cancer. The UK and Ireland Fanconi Anaemia Family and Clinical Network has been set up to promote research to benefit FA-affected patients and provide information for FA families. Fanconi Hope is the charity set up to support the aims of the Family and Clinical Network. More information is available at http://www.fanconi.org.uk/

Thanks for reading and we hope you can help us reach our target,

LeTower2Tower Team.
