**** UPDATE - 01.06.10 **** Climb Hard II: Climb Harder ****

Unfortunately, on the first time around, the weather gods forgot about our challenge and organised their own "Worst Conditions Possible" competition for the same weekend. This time around we're assured that Gales and Snow are away on their summer holidays for the whole of June.

The Peaks Revisited challenge will now take place over the 12th (Saturday) and 13th (Sunday) of June. Apart from that, all details below still apply!

Finally, a massive Thank You from all of us and the folks at BASIC for the wonderful and generous support so far.

Jonny enjoyed his breakfast but quickly needed a new challenge:

“Who wants to come on a drive to the top of every mountain in Britain?”

“No,” came the chorused reply.

“Ok, how about we just drive to the top of the tallest ones in Scotland, Wales and England? We could sky-plus Columbo and be back in time for Match of the Day 2”.

“No. It can’t be done.”

“Of course it can! Probably. Where’s your sense of no such word as ‘cant’?”

“What?” came the reply, in bemused stereo and fortuitous eight-part harmony.

“I think you probably mean ‘can’t’, but both are real words anyway,” Alanna clarified.

“True. Does that mean you’re all coming?”

“No. Really - it can’t be done.”

“Yeah, you might be right. I’ll google it later,” Jonny reluctantly conceded. “Who just wants to canoe to France then?”

…Several days later, a compromise was found. The “How many people can you get on the back of a St Bernard?” tour was born.

On Easter weekend, a team of Chorley exiles and friends will drag themselves up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon on consecutive days. Typically, this same group would not bother to climb the stairs without the reward of a night’s sleep at the top.  It’s kind of A Big Deal.

Jonny, Smithy, Thornley, John, Jacko, Johanna, Hywel, Sarah, Ceryn, and Jamie welcome you to our combined fundraising page.  All donations will find their way to BASIC (Brain and Spinal Injury Centre: www.basiccharity.org.uk), a Manchester-based resource close to all our hearts.  90% of their funding comes from fundraising, so please dig deep and give whatever you can, no amount is too little. (And remember, this page is in place of all 10 of us badgering you individually!)

Finally, if anyone wishes to join us for any or all of the adventure, or simply just for a pint afterwards, you should get in touch.

Thanks everyone. Peaks and Love.
