We are taking the plunge. We are no longer young enough to blame impetuousness!! We are choosing a Sunday in the saddle instead of a Sunday in the Pub - and you know what? We're absolutely dreading it....

The aim is to ride 59 miles without incident from our Nation's capital city, to the beautiful city of Cambridge for Leuka.

Leuka are a fantastic charity, attached to the Hammersmith Hospital in London. Their aim is simple. They help get the brightest minds looking into innovative and new ways of treating, curing and eventually eradicating Leukaemia for ever. These experts may not otherwise be able to work in the U.K., due to lack of funding from within the Health Service. They are truly a charity that are worth all our support. They are truly a Charity for the 21st Century.

The charity is small, but that means they keep a track of every penny they receive. The money goes straight to where it's needed and there's not a penny of waste.

Leukaemia and other types of Blood Cancers are an indiscriminate disease. It is a fact that Leukaemia is the biggest killer of 19 to 35 year olds in the U.K.

When one of these diseases comes into your life, it is often difficult to come to terms with. Sadly, many people don't even get that chance of reconciliation with the illness. It can be deadly in such differing timescales - from days sometimes in aggressive cases, to years in some others and with advances in medecines, research and treatments - sometimes not at all.

One thing is certain though. When you have Leukaemia, or are living with it, life is never the same again.

That's why we're riding. That's why we're prepared to risk a week of saddlesore.
