Hello! 

I'm running the Royal Parks half marathon for People and Planet - so give me (them) some money!

Why? Because People and Planet is a network that supports students who campaign for Human Rights and the Environment. Through campaigning Students, not only those active in the campaigns but those witness to them, learn about the issues of our time and fundamental practices in democracy.

Today's students are apathetic? To some extent its true. But to have a diverse and active student population requires certain climates. People and Planet opens up new thinking linked to action when before there was just gaps (perhaps left by the subdued NUS?).

People and Planet isn't a charity, what about AIDS? People and Planet campaigns to provide the long term changes (political or otherwise) needed to lift people from poverty over short term reliefe offered by many other charities. It also empowers the participant.
