The Prince's Trust Palace to Palace 2016 · 2 October 2016 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 9th October 2016 I'm taking part in the Palace to Palace Charity Cycle with my employer, Costain Group PLC, in order to raise money for the Prince's Trust. The event is a 45 mile route starting at Buckingham Palace, before cycling through Richmond Park and the Surrey countryside towards the finish line alongside Windsor Castle.

The Prince's Trust supports 13-30 year olds who are unemployed or struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people they help are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law.

They offer a range of training programmes, where practical and financial support is given to vulnerable young people to help stabilise their lives, whilst helping to develop self-esteem and skills for work. Currently, around 80% of those on a programme move onto Employment, Education, Training or Volunteering, with this percentage ever rising.

Fundraising for The Prince's Trust will help change the lives of some of the hardest to reach young people in the UK.

Not only will this be raising money for a great cause, it will also be an enjoyable challenge for myself!
