My name is lia and i am 6 years old. I am going to try and swim 1 mile for sport reief.

This is my first sponsored event and i am really looking forward to it. I am going to try and swim my mile on friday 19th march. My mum, sister and friend Jo are all coming to cheer me on and i will be doing it with the help of my swim teacher Luke(who i am a bit of a monkey for sometimes, but i would'nt be as good at swimming as i am if it was'nt for him) "mum said my head is growing now".

Also my brother who is only 4 has swam 1200mtrs. A mile is 1500mtrs so i cant have him beating me now can i. !!!

Therefore i am hoping to raise £1500, which means £1.00 for each metre i swim.

I really like to help other people and feel really sad when i see the boys and girls that have no food or mum's and dad's on the telly. I always ask mum how we can help them. Usually we donate to other peoples events so when Luke suggested swimming for sport relief and mum explained where the money would go, i decided i was definately doing it, and i have started to get sponsors already.
