Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. By donating here the money will go straight to our chosen charity - Tushinde. We will also be collecting donations during fundraising events and these monies will be distributed to SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) as well as Tushinde. Please see the links below for more information on our chosen charities.
The Mission
A team of 5 personnel from RAF Shawbury will be attempting to complete an Ironman Triathlon on 24 June 2012 to raise money for two charities - Tushinde and SSAFA.
The Team
Liam Salt, Chris Duffy, Tom Healing, Si Williams and Mike Jones
The Event
An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organised by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bike and a marathon 26.219-mile (42.195km) run, raced in that order and without a break.
The Reason - Tushinde
Tushinde provides free education, food and shelter to children in Africa that have often lost one or both of their parents to HIV and are being cared for by relatives or neighbours.
We hope to give one boy and one girl the opportunity for education, food and accommodation away from the slums. £2,000 is the target and every penny you donate will make a difference to these children’s lives.
