Country Holidays for Inner City Kids (CHICKS) provides respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK between the ages of 8 and 16. Children come from all backgrounds and invariably suffer from the consequences of poverty, neglect and physical or mental abuse. The charity also provides breaks for young carers.

My story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We are raising money for CHICKS through a trek to Mount Roraima, Venezuela (the mountain that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World' [for those like Annie who dont know, he's the guy who wrote the Sherlock Holmes stories]).

CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) provides free respite holidays for kids from underprivileged backgrounds. Run from their centres in Devon and Cornwall they take children aged 8-15 from across the UK. This gives the kids a proper holiday and a break from their normal situation.
