Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

My name is Liam Fullbrook, I am 18 years old and in my final year of my A levels, I have been privileged enough to have been selected to crew the Rona 2 on the final leg of the 2009 Tall Ships Race from Halifax (Canada) to Belfast (UK). Please could you spare five minutes to read this and if possible consider sponsoring me or the Trust.

Who are the Rona Trust

The Rona Trust is one of the longest running Sail Training organisations in the, established for more than 45 years. In that time, we have taken over 30,000 young people to sea and given them the experience of a lifetime, greater self-confidence and a new perspective on the world. From our original aims we have evolved into a unique organisation that develops a young person's self-confidence through teamwork and friendship in a nautical environment. As part of that evolution, we are also one of the largest Sailability organisations in the country - taking disabled young people to sea. With a dedicated full-time team of just five, most of the Rona Trust's 300 regular sailing members are volunteers. Their active support enables us to touch the lives of a large and disparate group of people, all of whom, in their own way, significantly benefit from an experience at sea.

Why do we need to raise Funds?

The Rona Trust is a Registered Charity No 313762 our boats are maintained to the highest standards of safety and seamanship. Every 10 years we take the opportunity for a major refit, not only to ensure that it is ready for the rigours of 4 months away from base, and some 10,000 miles at sea. But to ensure that it is ready to give a further 10 years of heavy service at home.

Every 5 years replacement sails £40,000, Every 10 years replacement rigging £10,000, Every 10 years engine replacement at £10,000 , Every year safety equipment overhaul and upgrade £5,000, Every year waterproof clothing repair and replacement £1,000

PLEASE HELP ME TO HELP THE RONA TRUST TO HELP OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE. 50 PENCE OR 50 POUND ALL IS GREATLY AND THANKFULLY RECIVED.

Thank you for at least reading why i am fundraising if you cannot help thankyou for giving me time to explan
