On March 22nd I will be taking part in a sponsored parachute jump in aid of Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology Charitable Funds.
This year Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology celebrates 50 years of leading cancer care at the centre, through a 50th Anniversary Appeal. As the occasion is a landmark for the Centre they are looking ahead to the future and planning to undertake a programme of refurbishing the wards, including making more single rooms for inpatients and the development of a dedicated teenage and young adult unit. They are also improving community cancer treatment provisions and supporting their doctor's leading research and trials.
Their aim is to deliver services and facilities that dramatically exceed the expectations of the patients and their families throughout their time at the Centre.
Each year more than 7000 new patients diagnosed with cancer are referred to Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology for treatment and fundraising efforts make considerable advances to the facilities they are able to offer patients.
