Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'll be raising funds while I'm trying to lose some more weight. I've already come a good way from 154.90 kg (24 stone 5.5 pounds) in March 2009 to 119kg (262 lbs) in November 2010. I reached my interim target of 110 kg (242 lbs) in January 2011

I weighed in at 97.75 kg (15 stone 5.5 pounds) on 10/08/2011, which is a total loss of 9 stone so far.

Please consider sponsoring me, it will be a great tool of encouragement and a good challenge on my weight loss journey. (Read on for more information!)

I'm raising 50 % of the funds for The Salvation Army International Development (UK), which is part of a world-wide team supporting the battle against poverty in developing countries. They are unique in their approach to poverty alleviation because they are the poor!

Their programmes are designed by the poor for the poor and so are relevant to them. It also means they have a huge army of volunteers which means more of every pound you give, gets to where you really want to see it - changing the lives of the poorest. They guarantee that no less than 95p in every £1 will be used to directly fund projects for people and communities in need in developing contexts.

The other 50 % are going towards the work of my local Salvation Army as part of Parkside Christian Centre in Gibbonsdown, Barry in South Wales, UK. More information is available, when you click on the name Parkside Christian Centre above.
