Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit 'Lillies wish to walk' JustGiving page.
Lillie is 2 years old, she was born a week after her due date. She was not breathing on delivery and rushed to intensive care where she spent 10 days and 6 weeks in special care at Jessops. Lillie was frozen for the first 4 days to reduce brain damage and at a week old she had a MRI brain scan that showed cerebral palsy. After her parents got these results they were told she would never walk, talk, eat or cry and they should just strive to give her the best quality of life.
At present her cerebral palsy mainly affects her lower body where her feet turn inwards and she cannot fully stretch her legs due to the spasticity. Her tendons in her legs are gradually getting shorter even though she has a strict daily physio routine. Lillie also has had botox injections in her hamstrings that reduce the spasticity, which helps Lillie a lot to become free to move her legs, but this only lasts a short time and she is soon back to how she was before having them.
SDR is a procedure that will remove the spasticity for ever and enable Lillie to live a normal life. It also means she will never have to have any more surgeries to lengthen her tendons. Her parents need to raise £50,000 for the trip to America where Lillie can undergo the surgery that will improve her life dramatically.
So please help Lillie and donate now.
