Story

Hi Everyone

Thank you for visiting our skydive site.  Wes and I completed our jump on Sunday 13 September which was a very windy cloudy day.  It’s most certainly fair to say that we were both petrified beyond belief, a few tears where shed on the day mainly by me but also my dad who was so very proud of us for doing the jump and extremely touched by your generosity.  Pic will be up soon I promise..

Thank you to our supporters and paparazzi who did an amazing job of keeping our minds off the actually jump whilst we waiting around for hours!

Thanks for visiting our site, if you don’t know what you’re visiting you’re visiting the Skydive site for Linda and Wes.  Yes that’s right we did say Skydive, we will be jumping out of a plane at a stupid height (approx 10,000m) on 13 September in Oxford, to raise money for charity.  But not just any charity we will be doing this for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).  As most of you will know Wes and I are both petrified of heights so much so, that we hate climbing a ladder. Not only is this a great thing to do for a charity close to our hearts, this is a great achievement for us personally (or should we say a stupid thing to do).

CLL is close to our hearts because Dad/Uncle Steve was diagnosed in 2005 with CLL.  Those of you that know us, know that that the past 4 years has been a roller coaster of worry, stress, emotion, disbelief and relief.  It’s been very tuff at times not only for dad (Uncle Steve) but for all of us in the close family too. We’ve been through two bouts of chemo, sickness and all the trauma that comes with it, not to mention the loss of the Bobby Ewing hair doo.

Leukemia is cancer of the blood it is not curable but is manageable with chemotherapy when needed, and you can live with Leukemia as we do.  Cancer and Leukemia are diseases which affect each and every person, everyone knows someone who has loved, lost, suffered or survived these terrible illnesses. We’re trying to do something different with our Skydive to raise much needed money into the research, treatments and knowledge.  Charity events like this are so important in raising funds and awareness of the disease and the life saving work that goes into preventing, diagnosing and treating Cancer and Leukemia.

We know that times are hard and disposable incomes are hard to come by, but please dig deep and give what you can OR we won’t be jumping out of that plane.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us, not just our family but our close friends as well.

Loads of Love
Linda and Wes xxx
