We are pleased to also announce that our daughter Claire is to get married to Mr Michael Gill on the previous Saturday 18 April at St Mary the Virgin, Whickham @2pm, we are not selling tickets on this occasion its a freebie. ;o)
Charity Night @ the Glebe raised £612 after all expenses paid out, a Big Thank You to all who helped raise this amount, A Special mention to the Friends, Family and Business who gave prizes for the raffle.
The reason we have set up this site is as a thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and the Ancillary Staff at Ward 36 Clinical Trials Unit, at the Newcastle General Hospital. All the money raised will go to the RESCUE FUND, this is for Training & Education also Funding Inhouse Studies that helps the Doctors treat Patients with Cancer through trials on new drugs ect:
In September 2007 Linda was told by Mr Mercer Jones that without treatment she had 2 to 3 months to live. We are both pleased to say that she continues to receive treatment from the Staff at Ward 36 (our Angels) She is now at the new unit at the Freeman Hospital
Cancer effects all our lives as I am sure you all know and it comes as a tremendous shock when it hits so close to home.
Our Charity Night at the Glebe Sports Club, Whickham with the Happy Cats on the 24th January 2009 was a great sucess due in no small way by the tremendous entertainment provided by the Happy Cats.We also raised a lot of money in the raffle. All the prizes were donated free by friends, family and local business.
We also hope to arrange raffles and other fund raising on a ongoing basis. I am sure we will not emulate the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation appeal but we shall endeavor to try. Any help from anyone who wishes to arrange sponsorship and needs forms just get in touch via email at robertjheslop@yahoo.com
