Story
I've Done It!
Well I am now back safe and sound from what was a really amazing experience, where do I start?
Blisters - 0
Achy muscles - all of them!
Mozzy bites - 37
Jippy tummy - 0
Tears - a few
Laughter - a lot
I was pushed physically to exhaustion (actually collapsed first day - most embarrassing!) Got through the cave at top speed - the guide try to slow me down as at the exit, which was a slide through on your tummy size, the roof was covered in spiders, however once I saw the light nothing was going to stop me! We trekked through the densest jungle, climbed and slid the steepest, muddiest mountain, crossed swollen rivers, met amazing village folk who we shared meals with and donated blankets and Mozzy nets. We saw the bridge over the river Kwai, laid a wreath at a POW cemetery, trekked along Hell Fire Pass and shed a tear.
Most of my fellow trekkers have had a personal experience of the Ellenor Lions hospices, having had their husbands, wife, friend or mum cared for by them. It was all the motivation I needed to get through the trek.
THANK YOU for your support and for helping me to raise such a terrific amount, I can promise you I really did work for it!
I haven't quite reached my target so if you know of anyone who may be able to help that would be great!

PS - fancy doing something similar? The Ellenor Lions Hospices are off to India next year, home of the Dalai Lama, why not join us?
