I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999 and have experienced a slow deterioration in my health since that time. I am now the Support Officer for the North Staffs Branch of the MS Society, and enjoy the work that we do, providing help, support and friendship to over 120 people and their families locally.

We run craft classes, yoga, social groups, courses, neurophysiotherapy sessions, outings and groups specifically for carers and people who are younger when they are diagnosed. We also provide grants for equipment and respite care, have an adapted caravan, suitable for people with all levels of disability and run a telephone helpline for people newly diagnosed or needing help or advice.

I believe that the branch already provides an excellent service for people with MS, but it costs money. If we want to continue to reach out to people with MS and expand our work, then we need more money to do this.

If I have the courage to leap out of a plane from 10,000feet....the highest an amateur can jump from, then please consider sponsoring me to raise funds for this charity which is very close to my heart.
