I took up running when i did the bupa manchester 10k by default in 2004. Since then i have ran regularly and have raced in a number of half marathons with a PB of 1H 37.37. More recently, since my marathon training began i completed the Swinton half marathon with a new PB of 1H 31.27

Turning 30 this year i decided was the time to do my first and probably only! marathon and which one could be better than New York.

I thought running for Bowel Cancer UK would make it even more worthwhile. Talking about our bowels is something we often shy away from and that is why it can often go undiagnosed yet it is one of the most treatable forms of cancer if caught early enough.
