It's my birthday - the BIG 40!!  I'm really lucky and have all the things I could wish for (well, I suppose you can never have enough handbags!) but after my visit to Sri Lanka last February, I realise that there are so many people for whom life is really, really difficult.  That visit had a profound effect on me and my family so it seems appropriate that my special occasion should benefit those less fortunate.

There are loads and loads of worthy charities which we all want to support; the difference with this one is that I've seen for myself the difference it makes - a real difference - and every single penny goes directly to those in need.

One of the projects which really touched me was the Village School.  They are amazing kids but the school is very poor.  What I'd really like to be able to do is fund a new playground so that they can do what our kids take for granted and play in a safe environment.

So rather than chocolates or champagne or flowers, I'd love it instead if you could make a small donation to help make my dream come true and help hundreds of kids enjoy their childhood..  With a bit of luck, we'll be going back to Sri Lanka some time soon and it'd be great to see the playground completed.
