Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2009's challenge includes a mere four mountains- on 17/18 July I completed the National 3 Peaks Challenge- Ben Nevis, Scarfell and Snowdon in 23 hours 58 minutes with more blisters than I care to count.... and then on September 23rd for my biggest challenge yet, I'm off to Tanzania to climb the world's largest freestanding mountain and the highest mountain in Africa Mount Kilimanjaro. Altitude, trekking through every climate from Equatorial to a Polar climate, and attempting the summit in -20 degree temperatures. Not quite sure what is worrying me the most!
I am raising money for Save the Children, they do great work both overseas and in the UK helping kids in poverty through no fault of their own. In particular my mum lived in Zimbabwe when I was younger, a country that has been left to ruin. Life expectancy is 34, mainly because a fifth of kids have HIV and a third are chronically malnourished, an absolute horror story. If you want to read more about what they are doing there, here's the link:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I would appreciate any pennies you could send my way- thanks very much! x
