Story
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
WE DID IT - All 31 of us! So far, as a family, we have raised around the £4k mark. Please keep the proceeds coming. :-)
WHY, THE BARTS AND LONDON HOSPITALS?
My family have decided to raise funds for these hospitals as Bobby (my Uncle) was being treated at St Barts for cancer. The nurses who looked after Bobby were fantastic and so raising some funds for the hospital seems fitting under our circumstances.
WHERE DOES THE FUNDS RAISED GO?
Money raised from this year’s event will be split between the Heart Cells Appeal, which is funding a ground-breaking patient trial at St Bartholomew’s and the London Chest Hospitals to determine if stem cells in patient’s own bone marrow can be used to treat heart disease, and the Trauma unit at the Royal London Hospital, featured on the BBC’s ‘Trauma’ series of programmes.
GIFT AID
If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
ON THE DAY (15th June)
There were 31 family and friends that took part in the 3k fundraising event - both youths and adults. We all run in Bobby's beloved West Ham United colours on the day, running in sky blue t-shirts with claret text on the back which said 'On The Run For Bobby'.
Many thanks to you all for your generosity and support.
Lisa
