Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am completing my first triathlon at Dorney lake on the 12th July 2008 and would like to take the opportunity to start raising money for St Francis Hospice in Havering Atte-Bower, Essex. St Francis Hospice and all who work there mean so much to me and my family for the truly amazing, above and beyond, love and care they gave my father, Patrick Charles who died from Pancreatic Cancer in July 2006 and also to the ongoing support for our family since this time. Both my brother Geoff and I promised our Father to raise money for them so they can continue their remarkable work for other families in their care. Geoff has already completed his first half marathon in 2007. The Hospice also cared for my Mum’s new partner and our true friend Peter Curry who also tragically lost his life to cancer in January 2008. Peter gave most of his time over the last few years working as a volunteer at the Hospice and I would love to raise money for him too to help continue his good work in some way.
The Triathlon will also be a challenge for me since recovering from a heart condition and numerous operations and treatment during 2007, so I am looking forward to embracing what feels to be a second chance and new lease of life. I am sure this will be the first of many.
Thank you so much for your support and donation, every penny counts and is truly gratefully received. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Saint Francis Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
