Haswell and District Mencap are a charity aimed at providing services, activities and support to people with a learning disability, their families and carers and the wider community.

Story

Our team is made up of our staff, volunteers and supporters. Our aim is to raise funds to develop a sensory garden at the rear of The Lisa Dixon Centre for our members with a learning disability.

We provide many activities and events in the garden and it would be wonderful to develop the garden into a relaxing, inviting space with raised beds. A multi-sensory garden will provide our members with both a therapeutic experience and also enable our trainees with a learning disability to grow their own produce for the kitchen.
