Story

Thank you for visiting my page :)  As a Thank you for looking after my mom so well over the years and through her recent surgery I am raising money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, and in particular the Adult Congenital Heart Unit.

As most of you know 2013 was a tough year, we found out mom had to go through major heart surgery again!  The repairs made to her heart/aortic valve as child lasted 50years which is amazing but we always knew the inevitable would happen and that she would require surgery at a later time.

Those who know me will know that I like to challenge myself physically and have previously completed, marathons, tough mudder, the biggest obstacle race in the world and various other obstacle courses but never usually for charity.  This year I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Dr Clift, the cardiology team, surgeons and all those involved with after-care for getting mom back on her feet - they have been truly amazing.

Right, so the events I have signed up for are below (first 4 are already completed)

06 April - Brighton Marathon (26.2m)

27 April - Bracknell Half Marathon (13.1m)

10 May - Bewl Water Trail Marathon (26.2m)

25 May - Windsor Trail half marathon (13.1m)

7 June - Bedgebury Trail half marathon (13.1m)

21 June - The Wall (69miles).  My biggest race of the year, this is a non-stop run from Carlisle to Gateshead across Hadrian's Wall.  I hope to complete this within 18 hours.

28 June - Clumber Park Trail half marathon (13.1m)

29 June - Sheffield half marathon (13.1m)

19 July - Race to the Stones (62miles).  After hopefully recovering from 'The Wall', I will take on the Chilterns for my next challenge with a run from Oxfordshire to Avebury Stones.

7 Sept - Wye Valley Trail Marathon, Forest of Dean (26.2m)

28 Sept - Windsor 1/2 Marathon (13.1m)

30 Nov - Florence Marathon (26.2m)
